Standard DSLR camera strap mounts make your camera stick out from your body at a 90-degree angle which is uncomfortable, pointless and prone to damage your gear walking in a crowd. The other problem is that if you switch often between using a DSLR as a stills camera and then part of a video rig or monopod, especially steadicam... you have to keep taking the strap off the impossibly small strap lugs.I use this as a quick on/off strap solution along with the ability to have the camera hang more in-line at the hip.This is perfect because the little integrated flipping handle allows you to tighten the screw on or off easily and when tucked back in, it sticks VERY well. The strap swivels around very smoothly and securely.I mount mine to the bottom of a QR plate mounted to the camera so that when I'm ready to switch to tripod, monopod, etc. I flip open the little screw handle and remove the strap with a few twists- and the strap just stays around my neck if I need it.When it's on the camera, it seems to stay put and not unscrew either because the piece that swivels your strap floats independently from the 1/4-20 bolt that runs through the whole thing. GREAT design.UPDATE - still going strong after several month's use. You really need to pair this with a sling-strap so that it's easy to move the camera around and up to shoot.
