The head is great. I returned it for the slightly more expensive ADJUSTABLE tilt mechanism. For my astronomy binoculars the return spring feature of this head would have made it quite annoying to tilt around smoothly for star viewing because it would keep insisting on returning to "level" with the very strong spring. I'll stick to manually adjusting this tilt tension.
